Proceedings
The Conference Proceedings will be published as a special issue of the journal Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment (NIM-A). All contributing participants of the SRI2010 conference (both oral and poster presentations) are encouraged to submit manuscripts for publication in the Conference Proceedings.
A bound, hardcover copy of the printed proceedings will be mailed to each conference participant who has paid the registration fee. In addition, access to the proceedings will be freely available via the internet.
Submission
Submission of a paper implies that it represents original work not previously published and not being considered for publication elsewhere.
The Publisher requests submission of the electronic version of each manuscript via the journal’s online editorial system.
For a presentation to be considered for publication at least one author must be a registered conference participant.
The deadline for submission of the manuscripts is October 4, 2010.
Preparation of manuscripts
Submission to NIM-A is exclusively online at: http://ees.elsevier.com/nima_proceedings/. The manuscript submission system guides authors stepwise through the creation and uploading of source files. Please note that even though manuscript source files are automatically converted to PDF format for the peer-review process, the source files are needed for further processing after acceptance. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor’s decision and requests for revision, takes place by e-mail.
Manuscript length is limited to three journal pages for all oral, poster, and workshop contributions. Five pages are allowed for Conference invited speakers. The format, font and layout of the proceedings are the same as the regular issue of the journal. Illustrations and tables should be prepared following the Publisher’s guidelines. Examples of NIM-A articles are available for your reference. Please note that the page-length is quite limited and authors are asked to calculate manuscript length very carefully.
Typically,
- a three-page manuscript will have 2000 words (including all text, abstract, and references);
- a five-page manuscript will have 3500 words (including all text, abstract, and references);
- each figure will reduce the word count. Subtract 50 words for each 1” (2.5 cm) figure height for single column figures and 100 words for each 1” height of double column figures. Single column figures must be legible when reduced to 3.5” (8.9cm) width.
Color illustration is acceptable with additional expense charged to the author at the rate of approximately $800 or less per page. Exact color-page charge will be known when the entire Proceedings volume is complete.
