Welcome

On behalf of the Advanced Photon Source, the SRI2010 Program Committee, and the Local Organizing Committee, I invite you to join us for what promises to be a very exciting meeting.  As many Pan American light sources plan exciting scientific futures, we need to address developments in instrumentation that enable new science.  This meeting gives us the opportunity to share ideas, initiate collaborations, and discuss our needs with potential suppliers.  Mark your calendars now and plan to spend a productive four days with me and our colleagues.
— J. Murray Gibson, Director of the Advanced Photon Source

Enabling Science and Innovation

Advances in synchrotron instrumentation, from sources through optics to detectors, have made possible the development of novel techniques to address pressing scientific questions that impact our daily life. SRI2010 is a forum to highlight these connections between synchrotron radiation instrumentation, science, and society.
